FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The 6th Annual Patron Six Blue Shark Association Reunion The reunion committee is pleased to announce that the Doubletree Alana Hotel has been selected to serve as the World Famous Blue Sharks next deployment site. The dates have been confirmed as October 13, 2009 through October 18, 2009. The actual reunion for business purposes will be on the 13th through the 15th with planned activities and dinner. The 16th through the 18th will be on your own. In addition to this attached message is another attachment which profiles the Doubletree Hotel and you might also like to check out their website at: https://secure.hilton.com/doxch.jhtml;jsessionid=WWVTKBSDHGMAACSGBIYM22Q? dst=http://DT/en_US/dt/hotel/HNLKADT-Doubletree-Alana-Hotel-Waikiki- Hawaii/index.do&ctyhocn=HNLKADT As you can see this hotel offers some very good amenities and a good location to boot. While we will have complete booking arrangements worked out in the next two weeks, I can tell you tha t the rate offered to the Blue Sharks is $149 per night plus taxes, currently about 12%. This rate will be available for a period of 3 days before and/or after our dates. Again, the reservations system is not yet set up to handle our bookings. In addition, there will also be a small block of rooms available at the Hale Koa Hotel located at Ft. De Russy just a short walk away. The Hale Koa will not be used as the Official Reunion Hotel and can only be reserved by members eligible to stay there. Rates offered to eligible VP-6 personnel will be lower than the normal rates offered. Please email me to request a reservation form for booking a room at the Hale Koa; they do not want to handle on line bookings for this event. Reservations can be made now for the one year out timeframe. Please keep the reunion committee informed if you are staying at the Hale Koa so we can track the number of rooms being used. Should you need or want to rent a car, the parking fee is $25 per night and the ho tel does have an on-site car rental desk. For the most part public transportation is available and reliable and we will be working on some tours that will also feature bus transportation. Stay tuned for additional details as they become available. This looks to be a great homecoming for the Blue Sharks and as details are firmed up in the next few weeks, we urge you to make your travel arrangements. Don’t be left out of the fun in Hawaii in ’09. Feel free to contact the reunion committee with any questions.
