RAUGHT, THOMAS L., 70, of Jonquil Drive, Potowomut, died Wednesday at RI Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Frances A. (Alessandro) Raught for 37 years.
Born in Rue, PA, he was a son of Kittie (Mills) Raught of Smethport, PA and the late Guy Raught. A 22 year veteran of the US Navy, he served in Korea and Vietnam before retiring as Chief Aviation ASW Operator in 1976. Mr. Raught graduated from Johnson & Wales University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Management. He was a Union Steward and clerk for the United States Postal Service in Wickford and North Kingstown before retiring last year. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Assn. Branch 42 and the American Legion Post 15.
Besides his wife and mother, he leaves his children, Dennis P. Raught of Peoria, AZ, Thomas L. Raught, Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA and Ronda J. Neiwert of Warwick; three brothers and five sisters; and his beloved grandchildren, Desiree and Brandon Neiwert, Denae, Tianna, Chloe, Dominque and Brenden Raught. He was the brother of the late Bill Raught.
His Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown. Burial with Military Honors will be in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visitng hours Friday 6-8 p.m.
