"...Served in VP-48 from February 1960 to March 1963. First 6 months TAD to messcooking and FASRON. Served rest of tour in AE shop and as flight crewman, Julie/Jez/MAD/Radar/ECM. AN to AE2. Flew with LCDR Ed Waller, later to retire as Admiral. Went on to serve 20 years, serving in VS-21, VS-38, member of S-3A FIT, made Warrant and toured on USS Kitty Hawk. My last tour was as a CWO2 in the ASWOC/TSC, COMASWWINGSPAC, NAS North Island, San Diego, California where I retired as an AWCM in August, 1978.
