I have been looking for a way to connect with some of my old Shipmates. My career started with FAW-6 (TAD to FASRON-120) 1957, made AT3 then to VQ-1 1958, then 1959 to FAETUPAC NAS North Island, San Diego, California and AT2. From there (1961) to VAW-13 (AD5Q's) where I made AT1, from there to VP-6 as AX1 (1963) with a deployment to Oakinawa and det to FASU/NSA DaNang, Republic of Vietnam. Returned to FAETUPAC NAS Moffett Field, California in 1965. 1968 saw AX1 Durden go to USS Bennington till Oct 1969, while on Bennington I earned my AWC hat. When Bennington was decommissioned in 1969 I joined VP-48 at NAS Moffett Field, California and was assigned to Crew 10 (LCDR John Barnes TACCO) from there to NS Sangley Point, Philippines/ NAF Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam in 1970 and then to crew 2 for NAS Cubi Point, Philippines/Utapa Tailand in 1971. Transfer to FASO NAS Moffett Field, California 1971 and retired 10/31/1975. Looking forward to meeting old friends and Shipmates soon.
