Served with VS-35 from May 1966 to June 1969. Made both the '67 and '68-'69 WESTPAC Deployments. Worked in the Paraloft and Airframes, as well as, flying as an Aircrewman. Checked onboard as an AMEAA and left for "Shore Duty" as an AW2. This tour was the foundation for my 30 years of service. I loved every moment of it. Would like to hear from some of my "old" Shipmates.
AWCS (Ret.) Dave "Devo" DeVarney:
Bobby was the best man at my wedding. I thought it fitting that I chose a man who had so much experience with weddings. Bobby had one major rule...you always change out two things when you PCS. One was to get a new car and the other was a new (tactfully omitted). He convinced me that taking an S-3 tour would be beneficial to my career and even convinced the detailer who was reluctant for an AWC to change communities that it was a worthy investment. Bobby helped me provide a profitable return on that investment.

AWC Jim "Bucket" Hunnewell:
I met Bobby at CPW-10 shortly after I made Chief and was up for orders back to sea duty. Bobby helped convince me to take orders to S-3s, and I'm glad he did. I loved my time in the P-3 community, but I'm glad that I took the opportunity to experience another great part of the Navy.
