I was in VP-7 in '64-'65, '67-'68. Instructor at AX-A school '65-'67. In VP-22 '67-'71. I was at PW1 Cubi Pt. P.I. '77-'80. I was aboard the VP-22 P-3 that went in to Subic Bay. I retired as an AWCS in May 1985.
Something else, that I would like for everyone to know, is that I had arranged for my very good friend, Terry Gillmore, who was an AWCS and stationed on the carrier in port, at the time, to be on the VP-22 P-3 flight, also. But, he didn't show up and my ditching station was reassigned from the floor station, at the Port over-the-wing hatch, to the galley seat that had originally been assigned to him. Had he been there that day, I wouldn't be here, now!
