"I was in VS-20 at NAS Quonset Point, Rhode Island in 1961. Transferred there shortly after the sqaudron was re-established, in response to the Berlin wall episode. S2F-1s were the plane of the day. Most were pulled from various bone yards, and none were very flyable without much maintenance. Was transferred to VS-36 after about six months. They didn't have enough personnel, so I & 4 or 5 others were transferred on about two days notice to NAS Norfolk, Virginia. Just in time to make a Med. cruise. Call me & say hi, if you were involved in that episode."

AWCS Jack Bufford was one of my Sea Daddy's when I was in VP-46 back in the late 70's. Even though Jack had a lot of busy ground jobs at the time, he continued to fly a lot, and always took time out to provide ground training for us new AWs. I learned a lot from him, then later ran into him in Norfolk after he made Master Chief.
