Valentine Ronald Brynteson, 72, Ormond Beach, passed over to the other shore January 4, 2007. He was surrounded by his loved ones at home. Family will receive friends today (Saturday, January 6) from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Fort Lee, N.J. Mr. Brynteson, a retired chief petty officer for the U.S. Navy, was born March 29, 1935, in Englewood, N.J., and moved to the area in 1992. He successfully owned and operated a salvage yard in St. Mary's County, Md., and later B&B Welding Supply Company in Great Mills, Md. He played a major role in organizing reunions for his past Naval Squadrons, V.P. 44 and V.P. 24. He was a member of The American Legion, Fleet Reserve Assoc., Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fraternal Order of Police, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Loyal Order of Moose. He loved football and was a devoted Jaguar fan. He is survived by his sons, John Brynteson and wife Delores, Ron Brynteson and wife Victoria, and daughter, Valerlie Hart Brynteson, all of DeLeon Springs; son, Mark Brynteson and wife Terry, King George, Va., and son, Michael Brynteson and wife Amy, Wanchese, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren that will miss him dearly.
