I am survivor, actually lucky escapee of VP-45 crew that crashed and perished in Argentia Newfoundland cause I re-upped and got sent to 'B' School in Millington three weeks before they crashed....other "escapee" was CDR R.T. Lemon who went on the become CO of VP-9. Have lost contact with him....our crew is missed.
VP-30 - 1961; VP-45 - 1962- 1964 (Decomissioned the P5M in BDA); VP-8 - 1964 - 1966; VP-30 - 1966 - 1969; VP-48 - 1969 - 1974; VP-31 - 1974 - 1977. Retired AWC - 1977.
