Don't remember when I first became an AW. I was in FAETUPAC with Dave Paden, J.W. Jackson, and a bunch of others. The AX rating looked like it was going down the tubes, and I had already been an AT "W" so the bureau decided I was best suited to be an AW vice AT. It must have been prior to 10/70 'cause that's when I went to the ASCAC on Ticonderoga.
